The "Sanders Family Christmas" is Connie Ray¹s sequel to the popular play, "Smoke On the Mountain", which was presented by the Theatre in 1996 and 1998, and played before a combined audience of 3,244.

The play, conceived by Alan Bailey, is about the Singing Sanders Family who are prepared to make their final appearance at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, as their son is headed off to war in WW2.  The play takes place eighteen days after Pearl Harbor and FDR’s declaration of war.

The Sanders family include Vera and Burl, their three children, Dennis, Denise, and June, and Uncle Stanley.  The Pastor, Mervin Oglethorpe, still presides at Mount Pleasant as its minister.

"The Crucible"
February 28, March 1, & 2
March 7, 8, & 9

This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a parable of our contemporary society.

The story focuses upon a young farmer, his wife, and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife’s arrest for witchcraft.  The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie - and it is here that the monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted.  The farmer, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.

"Never Too Late"
A comedy by Sumner Arthur Long
May 23rd, 24th, 25th and May 30th, 31st, June 1st

A man in his fifties discovers he's becoming a father again.  His married daughter has a husband that’s a real “boob” and he finds the prospect of becoming a father again unthinkable.  His previously meek wife suddenly begins to lay down the law; a new nursery & bath, and her own checking account! This one is not to be missed.
