1997-1998 Season 

First presented in 1985, "Exit the Body" is a comedy about a mystery writer who rents a vacation home that turns out to be a rendezvous point for some jewel thieves. Written by Fred Carmichael, the play was first presented in 1985 with sold-out audiences.

"The Queen Victorian Rag" is an original play written by Theatre director David Arial about the life and times of Queen Victoria. Arial wrote the Theatre's presentation of "A Christmas Carol" which drew over 2,000 in attendance. 

The Theatre's season concluded with the encore presentation of Connie Ray and Alan Bailey's evangelical musical comedy "Smoke on the Mountain". First presented in 1996 and scheduled for an eight night presentation, the play ran for 16 nights before 2,348 people and became the Theatre's top drawing show in its 21 year history. The play takes place in the sanctuary of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, N.C. It is a Saturday night after their bus overturns, "The Sanders Family" arrives.
